- Adaptable Flow Rate: For gravity-fed systems, the self-adjusting weir accommodates flow rates up to 18,000 litters per hour, ensuring optimal performance regardless of your pump's output.
- Versatile Application: While it complements all filtration systems, it's particularly well-suited for use with the Evolution Aqua Nexus filter range, offering a comprehensive filtration solution.
- Standalone Capability: It can be used independently with a surface skimmer to efficiently remove floating debris, providing a simple solution for keeping your pond surface clean.
- Enhanced Biological Filtration: By removing organic matter before it reaches your main filter, the Large Pond Sieve Prefilter improves the efficiency of biological filtration processes.
- Time and Effort Savings: With less frequent need for cleaning your main filter and reduced pond maintenance overall, you'll spend less time on upkeep and more time enjoying your pond.
By incorporating the Large Pond Cetus Sieve Prefilter into your pond system, you're investing in clearer water, healthier aquatic life, and a more enjoyable, low-maintenance pond experience.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Cetus Sieve be used on both pump and gravity fed systems?
Yes, the Cetus can be used on both gravity and pump fed systems. You simply swap the rubber boots around on the inlet/outlet
Can the Cetus Sieve be used as a stand alone filter?
No, The Cetus Sieve is a mechanical filter only, it has no biological filtration.
What kind of filter works best with the Cetus Sieve?
The Cetus Sieve is suitable for use with both pressurised filters such as the K1 MicroBead, and non-pressurised filters such as the Nexus, the Cetus Sieve can be used with most brands of filter following the same installation procedure as outlined in the manual for the Nexus.
Can I install a Cetus Sieve and a K1 MicroBead filter on a pump fed system?
No, the Cetus will need to be gravity fed to install before a K1 MicroBead filter.
Does the Cetus Sieve need to be installed above the water level?
If the Cetus Sieve is installed on a gravity fed system it will need to be level with the surface of the pond (please refer to the manual). If the Cetus Sieve is installed on a pump-fed system it will need to be above the surface of the pond, if not it would overflow (please refer to the manual)
Why do you need balance pipe?
If the Cetus Sieve is installed on a system with a biological filter such as a Nexus, the balance pipe ensures that neither the Cetus or biological filter do not overflow.
Why do i need two pumps?
If the Cetus Sieve is installed on a system with a biological filter such as a Nexus, you will need two pumps to install the Cetus Sieve as recommended, this ensure the optimal performance of both the Cetus and biological filter. If the Cetus is gravity fed you could use one pump but this would mean the biological filter would be raised above the pond. Only one pump is required if using with a pressurised biological filter such as a K1 MicroBead, the Cetus MUST be gravity fed.
