Large ponds and farm dams have a problem small ones do not: without movement, the water stratifies, oxygen drops and algae take hold. A floating aerator fixes that, but the conventional ones need a cable run out over the water. This unit floats free and runs entirely off two 80 W panels, so there is nothing to trench and nothing on the electricity bill.

Aeration first, display second

The 5000 litres per hour of throughput is doing real work here — breaking the surface, driving gas exchange and keeping the water column turning over. The fountain plume is the visible part, but the oxygenation is what keeps fish healthy and holds algae back. Head height is 2.5 m, which gives a substantial spray without pushing the pump beyond its efficient range.

Because it floats out of reach

The unit self-adjusts to the water level, so a dam that rises and falls through the season needs no attention. And since wading out to a floating fountain is nobody's idea of a good time, it comes with a remote control good for 100 m — you adjust it from the bank.

Specifications

  • Solar array: 160 W total (2 × 80 W panels)
  • Remote control range: 100 m
  • Operation: daylight hours only, no battery included
  • Design: free-floating, self-levelling

Where it works

  • Aeration for large garden ponds, dams and estate water bodies
  • Fountain displays that also improve water quality
  • Supporting fish stocks through better oxygenation
  • Reducing stagnation and algae growth

Worth knowing before you order

  • Daylight only. No battery is included, so aeration stops overnight. In a heavily stocked pond, overnight oxygen demand is the risk period — pair this with a mains or battery-backed aerator if your stocking density is high.
  • 160 W of panel needs real estate. Two 80 W panels take up meaningful space and must have unshaded sun for the fountain to reach full height.
