Solar Submersible Pond & Fountain Pump Kit – 1400 L/h with 25W Panel

Running a fountain at the far end of the garden normally means trenching a cable out to it. This kit removes that problem: a 25 W photovoltaic panel drives the submersible pump directly, so there is no plug point, no electrician, and nothing added to your monthly electricity bill.

How it works

The panel converts sunlight into 18 V DC and feeds the pump through a 5 m lead. Point the panel at open sky, drop the pump into the water, fit one of the two supplied nozzles, and the fountain runs. Output peaks at 1400 litres per hour and rises and falls with the available light — strongest around midday, gentler in the late afternoon.

Sizing it to your pond

The usual guideline is to turn the full pond volume over once every one to two hours, which puts this pump in the right range for small ornamental ponds and container water features of roughly 1 400 to 2 800 litres. Maximum lift is 2.1 m at zero flow, so mount the nozzle low relative to the water line if you want a strong plume rather than a trickle.

Worth knowing before you order

• Daylight only. There is no battery in this kit, so the pump slows as the light drops and stops after dark. If you need continuous overnight circulation for fish, look at a mains pump or a battery-backed solar unit instead.
• Keep the foam filter clean. A clogged pre-filter starves the pump and will eventually burn out the motor. Rinse it weekly in a pond with fish or leaf fall.
• Never run it dry. The pump has to stay fully submerged at all times.
