SOBO Eco Amphibious 10000 – 24V DC Pond Pump, 10,000 L/h, 75W
Pond pumps run continuously, so the electricity they draw is the real cost of ownership — not the purchase price. This one moves 10,000 litres an hour on 75 watts, a claimed saving of up to 65% against a conventional AC pump of the same output. Over a year of unbroken running, that difference is substantial.
Variable speed, not just on and off
The supplied control panel gives ten power settings, so you can match the pump to the job instead of throttling a full-power pump with a valve (which wastes energy and stresses the motor). There is also a feeding mode: 15 minutes off, then automatic resume after 60 minutes, so you can feed your fish without the current dragging pellets into the filter.
Runs on 24 V, plugs into 220 V
The motor itself is 24 V DC, which is the safety argument for this design — low voltage in the water. The supplied power supply converts from standard 220 V AC mains, so no special installation is needed. It uses true sine wave frequency conversion with a 6T sensor, which is what allows the smooth speed control rather than crude stepping.
Reading the flow and head figures — important
The 10,000 L/h and 6 m figures are not achieved at the same time. The flow figure is measured at zero head, with the outlet level with the water surface. The 6 m figure is the shut-off head: at that height the pump produces zero flow. Real output declines steadily as lift increases, so size the pump on the flow you need at your actual lift height.
Pipe diameter matters as much as the pump. Narrower pipe means more friction loss, which means less flow and less effective lift. If you are running a long or thin line, step up the pipe size rather than the pump.

Amphibious — in or out of the water
The motor is fully submersible, but it can equally be dry mounted outside the pond. That is worth planning for: a pump in a dry chamber is far easier to service, and it keeps the unit out of the silt that shortens pump life.
