Solar Underwater Pond Light Set – 3 Spotlights, Dusk to Dawn

A pond you have spent money on is invisible for half the year's waking hours. This set fixes that without any of the usual complications — no low-voltage transformer to install, no cable to bury, and no wiring anywhere near the water, because the whole thing runs off a small crystalline solar panel.

How it works

The panel mounts to a pole or railing and charges through the day. At dusk the lights come on by themselves and switch off again at dawn, giving up to eight hours of cool white light (6000 K) from a full charge. Nothing to time, nothing to switch.

Three lights, not one

You get three separate spotlights on 3 m leads, which is what makes the set genuinely useful — you can cross-light a feature from two angles and uplight a third point, rather than flooding everything from one direction. The bases are hollow and fill with stone, so they stay put underwater without needing to be fixed down. The lights lift out of their bases too, so they can be tucked into planting or rockwork instead of sitting in the pond.

Worth knowing before you order

  • The panel needs sun, not the lights. Mount the panel in the sunniest spot you can and run the leads to wherever the lights need to be — 3 m of cable each gives you room to work with.
  • This is accent lighting. It picks out a feature attractively after dark; it will not floodlight a whole garden.
