The Dutch Bato Bucket enables you to build a very low cost hydroponics system at low cost. It is ideal for growing heavy plants with an aggressive root system. Often used to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, chillies, peppers and even strawberries.

Installation is very simple.

  • Fill the bottom 2 litres with stone or LECA (light weight expandable clay aggregate). This will help with drainage
  • Fill the rest of the pot with either cocopeat or perlite, or a combination of the two.
  • Run a water feed line to each Dutch Bucket with individual feed drippers to the stem of each plant. This feed line will be fed from a submersible pump in the water reservoir tank and drip onto each individual plan in the Dutch bucket.
  • Install a water return pipe that is gravity fed from the bottom of each dutch bucket. The water in this pipe will drain back into the water reservoir, completing the water cycle

You can easily build a 1 or 2 bucket system for your home, or larger 100 to 1000 bucket systems for commercial hydroponic farms
