Part 1: How we got here! -Off the Grid Expo (2012)

Welcome to Part 1 of our "How we got here!" series of blog posts, with this series we will be taking a look back on how MyAquaponics has grown throughout the years, we will look at our best moments, our ups and downs and best of all it will show you just how much aquaponics has grown in South Africa!

MyAquaponics attended the Off the Grid Expo in Bryanston, needless to say Aquaponics fitted into the "Off the Grid" theme like a fish in water (no pun intended). 

This was one of the first expos we attended and the interest generated by aquaponics was amazing. The majority of attendees had never even heard of aquaponics and we were more than happy to spread the word and build South Africa's first Aquaponics following.

The above system was the FIRST MyAquaponics system to be launched in South Africa (Our designs have changed alot since then). This was also the first DIY system to be launched in South Africa and became the building block of a growing and thriving industry.

Since 2012, the Aquaponics industry has grown steadily, with greater interest from the government departments, schools, universities, and our top supporters, the public.

We would like to say THANK YOU, once again to all our supporters and we look forward to helping you get off the grid and become self-sustainable!
