Product Overview: Keep your fish healthy with regular nitrite monitoring using this professional-grade test kit. Nitrite forms naturally when beneficial bacteria in your aquarium filter break down fish waste (ammonia). Though less dangerous than ammonia, elevated nitrite levels can seriously harm your fish, making routine testing crucial for aquatic pet care.

Why Test for Nitrite? Nitrite is an invisible byproduct created by your tank's beneficial bacteria during the nitrogen cycle. While it's a normal part of filtration, any detectable amount indicates a problem that needs immediate attention. Left unchecked, nitrite stress can weaken fish immune systems and cause long-term health issues.

Target Levels: Your aquarium should maintain zero nitrite at all times. Any reading above 0 mg/L requires corrective action to protect your fish.

Corrective Actions:

  • Low levels (0.25-0.5 mg/L): Add bacterial supplement to boost filtration
