Broccoli is nutrient dense, and a member of the cruciferous vegetable family, extremely high in antioxidants and has great cancer fighting attributes. Contains high levels of a cancer fighting chemical called glucoraphanin and myrosinase which is released when chewed and together work to produce sulphoraphane. 3-4 day old sprouts supply the optimum levels of glucoraphanin, approximately 20 times more than in fully grown broccoli. A nutritious sprout that is packed with minerals and anti-oxidants.
This sprout has a mild, savoury flavour and a delicious crunch, with a taste similar to radish.
A cool weather sprout, if you are sprouting it in warmer conditions, rinse with cool water more often for better results.
As a sprout, ready to eat in 3-6 days. As a Microgreen, ready for harvest from 10 days, best before true leaf stage.
100 grams of Broccoli Microgreens seed can cover up to 2-3 Professional Microgreens Trays (each measuring 50cm x 25cm) if 35-40 grams are used per tray. You can of course increase the density of the seeds in the tray to your liking.
