Sock nets are used to move Koi and ensuring that their bodies are fully supported when being moved from one pond to the next, or into a tank. The loop is 300mm diameter and the actual net is 1.5m long, with an open end.
The fish's head would go through the loop into the net. You hold the open ended side of the net closed and liftthe fish out of the water, its body fully supported by the net. You then put the net into the tank or pond where it is to be released and simply open the net on the one side for the fish to swim out
The socknet is also ideal to catch fry and small fingerlings in your koi pond or fish tank. The open ended side would however have to be tied closed for this application
