Aquaponics related Youtube videos on Aquaponics are mainly to show off the video creator's "piece of art" and there is a lot of misinformation floating around. Aquaponics is not the Miracle system many people claim it to be. It is an exact science with pros and cons. You need to understand system sizing and design, benefits and cons of each type of system design, stocking densities and water quality. Most importantly, you need to know how to look after the 3 living organisms that are present in an Aquaponics system, namely the Plants, the Fish and the Beneficial Bacteria. If any of these living organisms are not healthy or present, you don's have an aquaponics system.
We've been doing Aquaponics since 2010. We have knocked our heads many times, sometimes we got over confident and then got punished for overlooking small but critical issues. We have had many failures, but also lots of success. Though we know a lot after 10 years of hands-on experience, we're still don't know everything. We stay humble and learn every day, not only from our system, but also from our customers.
Based on our experience over the years in supplying and building small and commercial systems in the African market, we have released our updated ebook which covers many topics that surround Aquaponics. It took over 5 months to compile this 140 PAGE book titled
"Secrets to Successful Aquaponics Farming - Backyard & Commercial systems" available in PDF format.

We have made the book fun to read, with many photos and illustrations that will aid you in better understanding an otherwise difficult subject.
In the book we share some of our secrets:
- For example, did you know that in larger aquaponic systems, fish alone are not enough to produce the required nutrients for the plants? We tell you what else has to be supplemented, including the right dosages.
- How many fish should you stock in an Aquaponics system? Well, what if we told you its not about the number of fish at all. Its more scientific than that, and we supply the formulas for you to calculate the correct stocking numbers.
- Fish, plants and bacteria all have different needs, so what exactly is the perfect happy medium for all of them ? We have taken a complicated subject and made it easy to understand through the use of infograms and illustrations.
- Confused about what type of aquaponics system is best for your needs? Don't worry, we go into detail on the 4 main types of aquaponic systems, highlighting advantages and disadvantages for each.
- What fish is best for your environment, and can you realistically grow fish to 1KG in 12 months in an aquaponics system?
- What are the most popular plants for aquaponics? We give you a list, going into detail on each variety. We also touch on how to avoid pests and diseases and how to plant from seed.

As a beginner to aquaponics, I came across this informative booklet. The booklet is helpful and easy to read with simple understandings. If I had not purchased this booklet, some critical things may not have been installed. The simple formulas for how many fish versus the square meter of growing space is required. The various types of growing systems and how to create them is wonderful. I'd like to thank the author/s for taking the time to creating this simple understanding of aquaponics.
An easy to read and absorb basic primer for Aquaponics. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject. I would have liked a bit more detail around flow rates and cycles and length of time between cycles in order to plan a system better.
The e-book is extremely informative and helpful ,especially if you are new to aquaponics or if you are looking to start your own system .
